Collection: DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to create a fuller or smoother appearance in the face. They are also known as injectable implants, soft tissue fillers, lip and facial fillers, or wrinkle fillers.

Dermal fillers can be used to:

Reduce the signs of aging

Minimize skin depressions and scars

Address fine lines and deep wrinkles or folds in the skin of the face

Restore volume and fullness in the face

Dermal fillers are FDA-regulated medical devices. The effects of most FDA-approved dermal fillers are temporary because the body eventually breaks down and absorbs the materials. The time that the effect lasts depends on the filler material and the area where it is injected.

Some types of dermal fillers include:

Hyaluronic acid: A sugar that is naturally found in the body

Calcium hydroxylapatite: A mineral and a major component of bone.

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA): A biodegradable, synthetic material

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA): A synthetic, biocompatible substance that remains beneath the skin indefinitely

Dermal fillers are considered to be safe but side effects can occur. A licensed healthcare professional should perform all dermal filler procedures.
