COLLADEW
COLLADEW
COLLADEW is a sterile and highly purified collagen filler designed for soft-tissue augmentation through intradermal injection. It consists of atelocollagen, which is a type of collagen that has undergone processing to remove telopeptides, reducing its antigenicity and making it safer for human use. The product is filled in a 1ml syringe and is primarily used for correcting wrinkles, nasolabial folds, scars, and other soft tissue defects.
Composition and Safety Profile
The main ingredient in COLLADEW is atelocollagen, which constitutes 3% of the formulation. This collagen type is derived from porcine sources (from piglets) rather than bovine sources, significantly lowering the risk of complications such as Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE). Due to its structural similarity to human collagen, COLLADEW does not require skin testing prior to use. Its preparation minimizes immune reactions because the telopeptide regions that typically elicit such responses have been removed.
Mechanism of Action
When injected into the dermal layer of the skin, COLLADEW works by providing immediate volume restoration and plumping effects. The filler acts as a scaffold that supports cell migration and enhances tissue remodeling. Additionally, it stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin within the skin, improving overall skin tone and elasticity.
Applications
COLLADEW can be utilized for various cosmetic concerns including:
- Forehead lines
- Glabellar frowns
- Periorbital lines (around the eyes)
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
It also addresses issues like loss of volume due to aging or sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks.
Treatment Protocol
For optimal results with COLLADEW:
- It is recommended to undergo 2-3 treatment sessions spaced about 30 days apart.
- A follow-up session may be scheduled after four months.
The effects of COLLADEW can last from one year up to eighteen months post-treatment. However, it’s important to note that approximately 40% of the injected material may be absorbed by the body within a month after administration.
Side Effects and Considerations
COLLADEW has a favorable safety profile with minimal side effects reported such as erythema (redness) or swelling at the injection site. However, it should only be administered by trained professionals in aesthetic medicine due to potential contraindications.
