OLIDIA
OLIDIA
Mechanism of Action
The key component of Olidia® is Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), a biodegradable material that has been approved by the FDA for use in medical applications. When injected into the dermis, PLLA microparticles stimulate fibroblasts, which are cells responsible for producing collagen. The particle size of PLLA in Olidia® ranges from 40 to 63 micrometers, which is optimal for avoiding phagocytosis by macrophages while still being injectable with fine needles.
Indications for Use
Olidia® is indicated for various aesthetic treatments, including:
- Treatment of severe facial wrinkles and folds
- Restoration of lost facial volume
- Correction of facial lipoatrophy (loss of fat in the face)
- Improvement of facial contour deformities
- Rejuvenation of hands and neck
- Enhancement of scar appearance
Preparation and Administration
Before administering Olidia®, it is essential to properly dilute the solution according to established guidelines. The recommended dilution involves mixing 1 vial (5ml) of Olidia® with 7ml of saline solution and 2ml of lidocaine, resulting in a total volume suitable for multiple syringes. The preferred injection technique is linear threading, which allows for precise placement within the dermis.
Storage Requirements
To maintain its efficacy, Olidia® should be stored at room temperature below 30℃ and must not be frozen. Proper storage conditions are vital to preserve the integrity and effectiveness of the product until it is ready for use.
